COLLECTION AND USE

Types and Uses of Collected Information. Tilde collects different types of personal information in order for us to provide you with the best products and services, access to our Platforms and to operate effectively. Some information may be provided directly by you while other information may be collected in connection with your use of our Platforms.

What Information We Collect. We collect the following types of information:

  • Personally Identifiable Information. Personally Identifiable Information is information that can identify a specific person. When you engage in certain activities on our Platforms, including but not limited to creating an account, sending feedback, or otherwise participating in the services associated with our Platforms (collectively, “Identification Activities”), we may ask you to provide certain information about yourself in order for us to be able to create your account, troubleshoot, resolve disputes, accomplish administrative tasks, respond to feedback or otherwise permit your use of our Platforms. If you elect to engage in an Identification Activity we may ask you to provide certain personal information such as your name, address, email address and/or telephone number. When you enroll in certain Platform services, we may also ask you to provide us with additional information, such as credit card information in order for us to complete a purchase transaction. Depending on the Identification Activity, some information we ask you to provide may be required and some voluntary. If you do not provide required information you will not be permitted to engage in that Identification Activity.

We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to administer sweepstakes and contests, enhance the operation of our Platforms, send you marketing communications, analyze Platform use, improve our Platforms, and to tailor your experience with integrated third parties as provided below in this Privacy Statement. If you use our Platforms to send information to another person, we may store this information.

  • Non-Personally Identifiable Information. Non-Personally Identifiable Information is information that does not identify a specific individual. This type of information may include things like the data your application sends to our Platform or service, Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) of the website you visited before coming to our Websites or your use of our Platform, the URL of the website you visit after leaving our Websites or our Platform, the type of browser you are using, IP address or general and/or aggregated location data that does constitute Personally Identifiable Information. We, and/or our trusted Third Party Service Providers, may automatically collect this information when you visit our Platforms through the use of electronic tools like Cookies and Web beacons or Pixel tags, as described below.

We use Non-Personally Identifiable Information to troubleshoot, administer our Platforms, analyze trends, gather demographic information, and comply with applicable law. We may also share this information with our trusted Third Party Service Providers to measure the overall effectiveness of our services and products.

Choices on Collection/Use of Information. Certain areas of our Platform may allow you the option of not providing certain information, although a certain level of information is required to engage in activities on our Platforms and utilize our services. You cannot opt-out of Administrative Emails. “Administrative Emails” relate to your activity on Platforms, and include but are not limited to us sending you emails regarding your account, responding to requests or inquiries, and facilitating purchases of products and services. If you do not want to receive promotional or marketing emails from us, you may opt-out at any time after registering by emailing us at support@skylight.io, or by hitting the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any of our emails.

How We Collect Information. Our Platforms gather information about how you use or sites, services and applications in a number of ways, including:

  • Web forms, particularly where you type information into a registration form or create an account.
  • Technologies like cookies (Please see https://skylight.io/cookies for more information about this type of technology).
  • Web logging, which allows us to collect standard information your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and language preference, the site you last visited as well as pages you visit and links you click on within our Platforms.

We may use tools and other tracking software, within our Platforms, to collect information related to pages and areas within pages you visit, enabling us to provide improved functionality and other enhancements within our applications.

ACCESS

Updating Information. If you are enrolled in our Skylight Service, you may update any of your information by logging into your account and accessing the “Account Settings Page” section. We strongly encourage you to keep your information current, as out-of-date information, such as a deactivated email address, may affect your ability to access our Skylight Service.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

LOCAL STORAGE OBJECTS

Local Storage Objects (HTML 5). We use Local Storage Objects (LSOs) such as HTML 5 Web Storage to store content and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our site and to display advertising based upon your web browsing activity use LSOs such as HTML 5 Web Storage to collect and store information. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML 5 LSOs.

ADVERTISING

Advertising. We partner with a third party ad network to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect Non-Personally Identifying Information about your activities on this and other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish not to have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking here (or if located in the European Union click here). Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.

USE OF THIRD PARTIES

Release of Personally Identifiable Information. We will not sell or share your Personally Identifiable Information with other parties except as provided below:

  • Authorized Third Party Service Providers. Tilde contracts with select third parties for Web-based services including email delivery and content streaming, that may collect visitor data including IP address and pages visited. These third parties are only permitted to use Personally Identifiable Information, for example email address, for the service requested and not for their own marketing purposes unless you separately consent to receiving such marketing under the terms provided by that third party.

We may also use third parties in delivering our services and products. These “Third Party Service Providers” perform functions on our or your behalf. We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with such Third Party Service Providers to fulfill orders, move data in or out of the Platform, analyze data, provide marketing assistance, provide search results and links, operate our Platforms, troubleshoot, and provide customer service. These third parties may not use any Personally Identifiable Information other than to provide the specific contracted services.

  • Release of Non-Personally Identifiable Information. We may disclose or share Non-Personally Identifiable Information with Third Party Service Providers. For example, we may share aggregated demographic information (which does not include any Personally Identifiable Information) or use Third Party Service Providers to track and analyze Non-Personally Identifiable usage and volume statistical information from our users to administer our Websites and the Skylight Service, in order to constantly improve their quality. We may also publish this aggregated information for promotional purposes. Such data is collected on our behalf, and is owned and used by us.

SECURE COMMUNICATIONS

Security of Information. You can access your Personally Identifiable Information on our Platforms with your password and username. This password is encrypted. We advise against sharing your password with anyone. In addition, your Personally Identifiable Information resides on a secure server that only selected personnel and contractors have access to. We encrypt all communications between you and Skylight. However, no data transmission is guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect data we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or from our Platforms.

COOKIES, GIFS & LOG FILES

We gather information about how you use our Platforms in a number of ways, including through the use of cookies pixel tags, web beacons, GIFS and log files.

Cookies. To facilitate and customize your experience with our Platforms, we may store cookies on your computer or other similar device through which you access our Platforms. Please see https://skylight.io/cookies (“Cookie Notice”) for more information about how we use cookies.

Other Tracking Technologies. We may use other industry standard technologies like pixel tags and web beacons to track your use of our Websites pages and promotions, or we may allow our Third Party Service Providers to use these devices on our behalf. Pixel tags and web beacons are tiny graphic images placed on certain pages on our Websites, or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed a specific action. When you access these pages or open or click an email, pixel tags and web beacons generate a Non-Personally Identifiable notice of that action. Pixel tags allow us to measure and improve our understanding of visitor traffic and behavior on our Websites, as well as give us a way to measure our promotions and performance. We may also utilize pixel tags and web beacons provided by our marketing partners for the same purposes.

Do Not Track Signals. At this time, our Platforms do not support “Do Not Track” preferences that may be available in your browser. For more information about Do Not Track, visit donottrack.us.

OTHER SITES

Privacy Policies of Third Party Websites. Our Platforms may include links to other websites that have privacy practices different than ours. If you use, link or visit any such website, we urge you review the website’s Privacy Statement. We are not responsible for the policies or practices of third parties.

BLOGS AND FORUMS

Public Forums. Our Platform offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blog or community forum, contact us at support@skylight.io. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.

Where available and if you choose to comment on our blog, you will be required to login to our third party vendor’s site to do so. Any information you choose to submit within this section of the site will be collected and used by our vendor and is subject to their Privacy Statement. Please contact them directly should you have any questions or concerns regarding your posting.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND WIDGETS

Our Platforms include Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Websites. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Websites, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Websites. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the Privacy Statement of the company providing it.

Only Tilde is allowed to access information stored on our servers, unless expressly authorized by Tilde. Unauthorized access to this information is a violation of the law. Tilde uses security measures and firewalls on all network servers in an attempt to prevent outside parties from accessing private information. In the event of a breach of security, Tilde will press charges to the fullest extent possible against those parties illegally accessing information on our servers.

Disclosure Pursuant to Judicial or Government Subpoenas, Warrants or Orders. In certain situations, Tilde may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal data as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us.

BUSINESS TRANSFER

In the event Tilde goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal data will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via prominent notice on our Platform for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

You should also be aware that if you do withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain Platforms to you. Where this is the case, we will let you know at the time you withdraw your consent. Please note that even after you have withdrawn your consent we may be able to continue to process your personal data to the extent required or otherwise permitted by law, in particular in connection with exercising and defending our legal rights or meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.
